MARSHALL GUV'NOR
This guitar pedal is a Marshall Guv'nor clone I built while taking an engineering class at LISD's Technology Exploration Center. During the electrical engineering unit, I taught myself how to read wiring diagrams. After soldering the components to the circuit board, I had a working pedal on my first attempt. However, I wanted to experiment with how different diodes affected the clipping that creates distortion.
The Concept

I tested several LED colors, including red, yellow, and blue, along with different silicon diodes, listening to how each configuration changed the pedal's sound. By experimenting with these components, I learned more about how they affect the sound of a guitar pedal. I was so excited to hear the finished pedal that I drove home during lunch just to plug it in.
